There's an interesting kind of claustrophobia that comes when things start to click. I don’t like to use the word success that much, because it's so subjective, but I suppose you could insert that word here too. The point is, when you've built something, a brand, an offer suite, a reputation, a carefully curated version of yourself, and it's working, people know what to expect from you.
They've placed you in a nice little box in their mind, and the good news is that nice little box has opened doors, created opportunities, and maybe even changed your life.
Until one day you wake up and something shifts. You realize the box you've built around yourself has become too small. The brand that once felt like a natural extension of who you were now feels like Kim K’s corset at the Met Gala circa 2024.
When we talk about personal branding, we often focus on the construction phase, how to build something authentic, how to find your voice, how to stand out in an oversaturated market.
